I’m Saeyoon Jeong.

Product owner/Manager, Writer, Editor, and (hard-core) gamer at Seoul.

Always having been that kid at the school reading too many books and newspapers, in my earlier days, I thought I would become a journalist someday. I majored Journalism and Cultural anthropology to do so. However, instead of joining a media company, I made one. After working at Dable to make a publishing platform for digital native media for a year, I joined Watcha as a product manager.

As co-founder, editor-in-chief, and CEO of Pinch, I constantly pushed boundaries of pay-walled content and content membership business in South Korea. Our team brought quality content with highly pleasing user experience to generate meaningful revenue from the content itself, not from advertising.

Etc.

what I love to do

I play all sorts of games. I collect games in Steam. I play FF14 at South Korean server. I have several board games at home. My favorite game title of all time would be Civilization series. I also enjoy watching e-sports league. I have been a long fan of LCK(a South Korean league division of LOL Esports). Everyone loves Faker of course, but my personal favorite is Deft. (Congrats on his Worlds win, finally, about the time.)

I like using precise words at proper place. I think the main task of product owner (or whatever you may name this roll) is to communicate seamlessly with multiple professionals handling different area of a project. Thus, I do like to study terms and concepts of every field that I should know, but do not like to decorate my thoughts with fancy jargon. Ideas and plans should be easy to understand. That’s why I titled my blog as <Universal Language(보통의 언어)>.
